The Saudi Dodgeball Federation signed an addendum to its Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Investment, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Nasser Al-Hajri. The signing took place on the sidelines of the Investment Forum for Education and Training, which was launched today, Sunday, at the Hilton Riyadh Hotel.
The addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding includes additional clauses to the original agreement that was signed in August. It aims to explore the possibility of investing in school playgrounds outside official school hours by allowing the rental of these facilities for practicing dodgeball, in accordance with the applicable regulations and systems. This initiative seeks to maximize the utilization of educational assets, enhance investment returns, discover new generations of athletes who serve the nation, and make productive use of students’ free time.
The past period has witnessed intensive cooperation between the Saudi Dodgeball Federation and the Ministry of Education, stemming from the Memorandum of Understanding signed in August 2025. The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration by promoting the practice of dodgeball in schools through the qualification and training of physical education teachers and supervisors, as well as encouraging physical activity among students. It also targets the organization of a promotional dodgeball championship at the level of schools within regional education administrations, followed by another championship at the national level among the general education administrations across the Kingdom.
Under the agreement, the Saudi Dodgeball Federation will organize lectures, workshops, and qualification and training programs for students, teachers, and supervisors nominated by the Ministry of Education, in coordination with the National Institute for Educational Professional Development and relevant entities, without affecting the academic plans of students and teachers.
The Memorandum of Understanding has already been activated in general education administrations in the central, western, and eastern regions, with a gradual rollout planned to include the remaining education administrations, in coordination between the Federation and the Ministry of Education.
It is worth noting that the Memorandum of Understanding and its addendum come as part of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation’s efforts to expand the base of participation in the sport and to discover athletic talents that will form the foundation of the Saudi national dodgeball team, supporting its participation in local, regional, and international competitions.
