His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Saud, President of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation, crowned the winners of the First University Dodgeball Championship, which was held at Effat University in Jeddah from November 5 to 8. The tournament featured the participation of 250 players representing 17 universities and colleges, in the presence of Dr. Khalid Al-Muzaini, President of the Saudi University Sports Federation.
The event was graced by the attendance of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Turki Al Faisal, a member of the Board of Trustees at Effat University in Jeddah, and Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, President of the University.
King Saud University won first place and the gold medal, while King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals secured second place and the silver medal. Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University claimed third place and the bronze medal.
Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Saud congratulated the winning university teams, noting that the championship reflects the federation’s ongoing efforts to promote the sport across the Kingdom and discover new talented players who can represent the national teams in the future.
He also praised the high level of performance displayed by the university teams, which contributed to the success of the first university championship, extending his gratitude to the Saudi University Sports Federation for its cooperation and to Effat University for its successful hosting of the event. The tournament also included workshops introducing the sport and its rules, attended by students, representatives, and staff from various Saudi universities.
For his part, Dr. Khalid Al-Muzaini, President of the Saudi University Sports Federation, commended the constructive cooperation with the Saudi Dodgeball Federation, emphasizing its role in enhancing sports participation among university students and supporting and developing university sports in the Kingdom. He also praised the excellent performances of the students throughout the tournament and wished them continued success in both their academic and athletic endeavors.
