His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Saud, President of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation and Vice President of World Dodgeball, crowned the winning champions of the Asian Dodgeball Championships (ADC), which was played at the Green Hall in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the period from January 21-24.
Hong Kong won the gold medal in the men’s competition, while the Japanese team came in second place, and the Malaysian team came in third place, while the Japanese team won the women’s competition, while Hong Kong came second and Malaysia came in third place.
At the mixed competition level, the Australian team won first place, ahead of Malaysia and Japan, which won second and third places, respectively.
The Saudi under-21 men’s team won the silver medal behind Hong Kong, which won the gold medal, while Malaysia won third place and the bronze medal.
The girls of the Saudi national team won a bronze medal in the women’s under-21 category, while Hong Kong won the gold medal and Malaysia won the bronze medal.
At the junior level, the Saudi team won the bronze medal, while the Malaysian team won the gold medal, and Hong Kong won the silver medal.
His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Saud, President of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation and Vice President of World Dodgeball, extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership for the unlimited support for the sports sector in the Kingdom, which contributed to the Kingdom becoming an ideal destination for hosting major sporting events regionally, continentally and globally.
During his speech at the opening of the tournament, the President of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation also thanked His Highness the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, for the interest and continuous follow-up that contributed to taking accelerated steps towards building national teams in the sport of dodgeball, as well as harnessing all capabilities to make this tournament a success, in the first time for the tournament to be held on the Kingdom’s soil.
The President of the Saudi Dodgeball Federation confirmed that the Kingdom’s hosting of the Asian Dodgeball Championships will represent the beginning of a new era for the sport of Dodgeball on the Asian level.
